Biography

 

Jeff Armijo was born April 10, 1970 in Socorro, New Mexico. He is known for being a "can-do" kind of person. His strong suit is being able to juggle many different tasks while inspiring the best in his teammates. He strives to find solutions to problems and has an up-beat attitude in all that he does.

 

These traits are evident when you look at his professional and personal life. Jeff has over seventeen years in active and reserve military service.  He served overseas in the US Air Force and was recognized as Airman of the Quarter.  In 2003, Jeff served with his National Guard unit on active duty for one year providing 24-hour security at Kirtland Air Force Base supporting Operation Enduring Freedom, then in October 2005, Jeff served with his National Guard unit on active duty providing water, ice, and food for the people of New Orleans. As a commissioned Army Officer through ROTC, he served in a variety of assignments, to include key leadership positions as Platoon Leader, Chemical Officer, Executive Officer and Battalion Intelligence Officer. His service medals and badges include: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Parachutist Badge, and Louisiana Emergency Service Medal. His military education includes US Air Force Tactical Air Command and Controller School and Air Defense Artillery Officer Schools. He was awarded Best Platoon in 1995.

 

Jeff graduated from New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and an MBA-candidate at UNM Anderson School of Management.  Now, he contributes to public education as an elected member of the Central New Mexico Community College Governing Board, formerly TVI, representing Albuquerque's Westside and Rio Rancho.

 

The Armijo Family has three generations of business ownership in New Mexico. Jeff's grandfather owned a gas station in Magdalena and, later, his father owned Art's Texaco in Santa Fe. Currently, Jeff is President of Paradise Travel, Inc. Paradise Travel provides travel management services.  With over 17 years of experience analyzing travel expenditures and using proprietary travel management tools Paradise Travel develops an airfare analysis, itinerary quality assessment and traveler satisfaction report to improve the delivery of travel management services.  He received recognition as an Up and Comer from UNM Anderson Schools of Management and NM Business Weekly.

 

Jeff is involved in many political campaigns, demonstrating his passion to ensure a common sense political agenda. His involvement provides significant perspective and insight into the political process. A key to Mr. Armijo's success is his drive to make a positive difference in himself and his community. He is active in numerous community and entrepreneurial activities.

 

Growing up in a large, New Mexican family and attending Catholic Church armored values and ethics that are at the heart of Jeff’s character.  He has endured public scrutiny his entire adult life, beginning with obtaining security clearances from the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Albuquerque International Sunport, and the New Mexico Public Education Department.  Then, he followed the highest degrees of personal conduct under the Uniform Code of Military Justice as well as the New Mexico Military Institute Honor Code.

 

Jeff Armijo goes beyond the call of duty in all that he does and will continue to do so in all his capacities. One major lesson Jeff has learned in business, military, and politics is that you are ultimately dependent on the people to your right and left. You are part of something bigger than yourself.
